Winchester Model 1200. Field Strip Guide. Unscrew the magazine cap
The Winchester Model 1200 was introduced in 1964 as a less-costly replacement for the venerable Model 12. A number of them were acquired by the United States Army in 1968 and 1969 along with Model 1400s. The Model 1200 was succeeded by the Winchester Model 1300 when U.S. Repeating Arms Company became the manufacturer of Winchester firearms. Production of both the 1200 and 1300 has since ceased.
The Armsel Striker (also known as Sentinel Arms Co Striker-12, Protecta, Protecta Bulldog, and Cobray/SWD Street Sweeper) is a revolver 12-gauge shotgun designed for riot control and combat.
The weapon's action is similar to that of a revolver, using a rotating magazine. Since the Striker uses a more or less conventional double action only trigger, and a very large and heavy cylinder (compared to handguns), Walker added a pre-wound clock-work spring to revolve the magazine. This proved to be a slow and ineffective way to load the weapon. The design was changed so that there is now a cocking lever on the right side of the barrel.
The first designs were criticized as having a slow and cumbersome firing mechanism. The latest version has a pump-action style lever used to clear the chamber as other pump-action shotguns do. The Striker is somewhat unique for a shotgun because of its twelve round capacity and short overall length.
The Remington model 1100 autoloading (semi-automatic) shotgun was first announced
Designed by Wayne Leek, the Remington Model 1100 was introduced in 1963 as a successor to the Model 58 and 878 gas operated shotguns. It found immediate high levels of acceptance due to its perceived excellent handling characteristics and a significant reduction in felt recoil. The Model 58s had supplanted the recoil operated Model 11-48, which retained the long recoil action of John Browning's original design, present in the Remington Model 11 and the Auto-5. All models of the 1100 are gas operated , with a mechanism that noticeably reduces recoil.. Several variations of the Model 1100, in 12, 20, and 28 gauges, and .410 bore are still in production as of 2009. The Remington Model 1100 ushered in the era of truly successful and reliable gas actuated autoloading shotguns, and it is the best selling autoloading shotgun in U.S. history.
The Pancor Corporation Jackhammer is a 12 gauge, gas-operated automatic weapon
The firearm, excluding the barrel, is constructed largely of a rynite plastic in order to reduce weight. It features a bullpup layout to preserve a 525mm barrel length in an overall 787mm package. The shotgun is fed by a 10-round capacity center-rotating drum using conventional 12-gauge cartridges. The shotgun weighs 4.57 kg and has a maximum rate of fire of 240 rpm. The drum's method of rotation is very similar to the Webley-Fosbery semi-automatic revolver.
The floating barrel is driven forward by gas pressure from the fired round. It is returned by a spring and moves the drum operating rod, breaking the tight seal between the barrel and the drum and allowing the drum to revolve to offer the next round. On the return stroke the barrel and drum are re-sealed, allowing the round to be fired without loss of gas. Spent cartridges are not ejected, remaining in the magazine.
As an interesting additional feature, it is possible to take the drum magazine off the firearm, attach a detonator, and use it as an anti-personnel mine that fires all of the cartridges at once when tripped. The manufacturer advertised this as the "Beartrap.
MPS AA12 Machine Shotgun/FRAG-12 Grenade Weapon System
The Atchisson Assault Shotgun, also known as, Auto Assault-12 (AA-12) was a firearm first developed in 1972 by Maxwell Atchisson. It served as the basis of several later weapons, including the USAS-12 combat shotgun. The weapon could fire in semi automatic or fully automatic modes. MPS version In 1987, Max Atchisson sold the rights of AA-12 to Jerry Baber of Military Police Systems, Inc. The company in turn developed the successor simply known as Auto Assault-12, which was redesigned over a period of 18 years with 188 changes and improvements to the original blueprint. MPS also teamed up with Action Manufacturing Company, and Special Cartridge Company to combine the gun with FRAG-12 High-Explosive ammunition into a weapon system. In 2004, 10 firing models of the AA-12 were produced and demonstrated to United States Marine Corps. Changes The weapon was shortened to 966mm but retained same barrel length as the original, and lightened to 4.76kg. The CQB model has 13-inch barrel length, and is half a pound lighter than the regular model. It uses 8-round box, 20-round drum, or 32-round drum magazines, as opposed to the original 5-round box magazine. It is designed to fire three different types of 3" 12 gauge shells: Buckshot, slug, or Frag-12 rounds. MPS has claimed that the weapon requires zero cleaning or lubrication. Media Coverage The MPS version was featured on the March 19, 2007 episode of Future Weapons. STATISTICS: Atchisson assault shotgun Type Combat shotgun Place of origin United States Production history Designer Maxwell Atchisson Designed 2006 Specifications Weight 5.2 kg less magazine. 7.3 kg with loaded 20-round drum Length 991 mm length 457 mm
The Mossberg Model 590 shotgun is a militarized version of the popular game shotgun known as the Model 500
Introduced in 1961, all model 500s are based on the same basic design. Originally using a single action bar this was changed to dual action bars in 1970, which are (at least in theory) less likely to bind than a single action bar design. A single large locking lug is used to secure the breech. The magazine tube is located below the barrel, and is screwed into the receiver. The slide release is located to the left rear of the trigger guard, and the safety is located on the upper rear of the receiver (often called a "tang safety"). Sights vary from model to model, from simple bead sight to a receiver mounted ghost ring or an integrated base for a telescopic sight. Most models come with the receiver drilled and tapped for the installation of a rear sight or a scope base. The factory scope base is attached to the barrel via a cantilever-type mount, which places the scope over the receiver but keeps it with the barrel if the barrel is removed.
Intended for use in harsh and dirty conditions, such as waterfowl hunting or combat, the Model 500 series is designed to be easy to clean and maintain. All Model 500s feature interchangeable barrels (given a particular gun's mag capacity; a barrel designed for a 5-shot tube will not fit a gun with a 7-shot tube) which may be removed without the use of tools, by loosening a screw on the end of the magazine tube, which allows the barrel to be removed. The bolt locks into a locking lug located on the top of the barrel, ensuring a solid bolt-to-barrel connection and not relying on the receiver for any locking strength. The trigger assembly, which includes the trigger, hammer, sear, and trigger body with guard, can be removed by pushing out one retaining pin and pulling downwards on the guard (if a pistol grip is installed, it usually must be removed first as virtually all such grips obstruct the removal of the trigger body). The elevator can be removed by squeezing the sides together, freeing the pivot pins from the receiver. The forend can then be moved to the rear, allowing the bolt and bolt carrier to drop out, and then the forend can be removed by moving it forward. The cartridge stop and interrupter will then fall free, leaving just the ejector and the safety in the receiver, held in by screws. The magazine spring and follower may be removed by unscrewing the tube from the receiver (this may be difficult on some new 500s). This level of field stripping is sufficient to allow all components to be cleaned.
The shotgun comes with 12-ga. smooth bored barrel and the chamber which accepts the ammo equipped with shot or slugs including "Magnum" cartridges with 70 and 76 mm cartridge case.
The shotgun is used to deliver single shots. It is reloaded automatically due to the energy of powder combustion gases bled from the barrel bore through the barrel port. The shotgun may be equipped with a sight leaf adjustable for windage and elevation, which makes zeroing and firing at moving targets more convenient. The gas motive unit is adjustable to match the parameters of internal ballistics inherent to the standard cartridges and "Magnum" cartridges, as well. For the purpose of diversifying operational capabilities the shotgun may be equipped with muzzle adapters of different chokes, including the muzzle adapter "Paradox".
The shotgun may be produced with a quick-detachable butt and quick-detachable pistol grip to make storage and transportation more convenient and to enhance its maneuverability. The "Saiga-12" shotgun is manufactured in four versions: "Saiga-12", "Saiga-12S", "Saiga-12K", "Saiga-12S ЕХР-01".
The "Saiga-12S" differs from the "Saiga-12" in the availability of a special folded butt and an operating handle. The folded butt makes carrying and storing the shotgun more comfortable. The "Saiga-12K" has a short barrel and a trigger/firing mechanism locking device to prevent the shotgun from firing when the butt is folded. Being an export version of the "Saiga-12K", the "Saiga-12S ЕХР-01" is not equipped with a trigger/firing mechanism locking device. Atop the receiver is a rail for the optical-sight mount accommodation.
Complete set
The complete set of the shotgun includes a set of tools and accessories for shotgun maintenance.
On Customer's order the shotgun may be complete with an optical sight, a mount, a carrying case and a sling.
The SPAS 12 was designed to function primarily in semi-automatic, with the pump-action mode used to reliably fire low-pressure ammunition
The SPAS 12 was designed to function primarily in semi-automatic, with the pump-action mode used to reliably fire low-pressure ammunition such as tear gas rounds or less-lethal bean bags. Switching between firing modes is done by pressing a button under the foregrip, and sliding the foregrip slightly forwards or backwards until it clicks into position.
The SPAS-12 has a magazine cut-off feature that can prevent the loading of a new round from the internal magazine when the gun is cycled. This allows the operator to load a specialized round into the chamber without going through the entire magazine first. Another unique feature of the SPAS-12 was the hook seen on folding stock variants. This hook could be rotated in 90 degree increments so that it would fit under the user's forearm when the stock was extended. With the stock supported under the forearm the gun could theoretically be fired with one hand, allowing the user to fire around cover or use their support hand for other tasks.
Early SPAS-12 models featured a lever-type safety, but over time it would begin discharging the firearm when switched on or off. This was eventually recalled by Franchi and replaced by a push-button crossbolt safety.
The barrel of the SPAS 12 was externally threaded to accept a wide variety of attachments, from chokes to gas grenade launchers. One interesting and particularly rare attachment, called a "diverter", spread shot vertically or horizontally. All barrel attachments are considered rare, and demand premium pricing on the secondhand market.
The Bernardelli B4 shotgun family was designed specifically for use by military and security forces
The frame is a single piece of aluminium alloy, giving high strength. The barrel is high-grade steel, and all external surfaces have an anti-corrosion and anti-glare finish. The breech mechanism employs a rotating bolt for additional security, and it is possible to launch grenades from the muzzle. The weapon feeds from a removable box magazine. A grip safety device prevents the weapon from being fired unless properly handled. The B4 shotgun can be operated as a self-loading weapon or manually as a pump-action gun, the choice being selected by a lever. The action is gas-operated in the self-loading mode. The shotgun can fire all normal plastic and brass-cased shotgun ammunition. The B4/B model is derived from the B4 but dispenses with the self-loading action and is pump-action only. Its dimensions are the same as those of the B4 except that it weighs 450 g less.
BERETTA RS200 Special Shotgun
The Beretta RS200 is an Italian 12-gauge manual repeating pump-action shotgun designed for self-defence and use by law enforcement agencies. It has a tubular magazine which can accommodate up to six rounds of any type of 12-gauge ammunition, including CS gas cartridges, non-lethal rubber balls, slug and conventional shot. The Beretta RS200 has a 520 mm long barrel and can propel CS gas cartridges to a range of 100 metres.
Benelli M4 used by the US Marine Corps can be your home defense shotgun of choice.
The M4 was the first gas-operated shotgun produced by Benelli. Its function is designed around an entirely new method called the "auto regulating gas operated" (ARGO) system. The ARGO system on the M4 opened the door for Benelli's development of the R1 rifle line. The design uses two stainless-steel self-cleaning pistons located just ahead of the chamber to function opposite the rotating bolt, thereby eliminating the need for the complex mechanisms found on other gas-actuated automatics. Benelli accomplishes this level of reliability through the simplicity of the mechanism. The ARGO is a short-stroke system that incorporates only four parts. It consists of two symmetrical shrouds containing two small steel gas pistons.
It is also self-regulating for cartridges of varying length and power levels. It can fire 2.75 and 3-inch (76 mm) shells of differing power-levels without any operator adjustments and in any combination. Low-power rounds, such as less-lethal rubber pellets, must be cycled manually.
The sights are military-style ghost ring and are adjustable in the field using only a cartridge rim. The MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny sight rail on top allows use of both conventional and night-vision sights, while retaining use of the original sights.
